Service: Grading
Site grading in London, Ontario
Grading decides where the water goes and where everything else sits. 5Rivers Trucking grades lots, building pads, driveways and yards across London and Southwestern Ontario, checked against survey so the finished elevations are the ones on the plan.

Rough and fine grading
Rough grading shapes the site after the excavation: cuts and fills moved and compacted to the elevations on the grading plan. Fine grading brings the surface to its final level, ready for topsoil and sod, a granular base, or hardscape.
Grades are checked against survey, not by eye, so what is on the ground matches what is on the drawing.
Drainage first
The most common grading problem is a yard that sends water toward the house. We grade so water runs away from foundations and toward the swales and catch basins the lot grading plan sets out.
On a single yard that can mean cutting a high spot and building up a low one. On a new lot it means setting the whole site to its design elevations before the landscaping goes in.
Material in and out, one crew
Grading usually means moving material: fill brought in to raise low ground, topsoil for the finish, surplus hauled away. Because we run our own dump trucks, the material moves on the same schedule as the machine.

Questions
Do you regrade residential yards?
Yes, from one yard regraded to move water away from the house to full lots and building pads for new construction.
Can you bring the fill and topsoil too?
Yes. We deliver fill, granular and topsoil with our own trucks and haul away the surplus, so the grading and the material run on one schedule.
What areas do you grade in?
London and the towns around it: St. Thomas, Strathroy, Woodstock, Ingersoll, Dorchester, Komoka, Ilderton, Lucan, Mount Brydges, Thorndale, Belmont, Aylmer, Tillsonburg, Parkhill and Glencoe, across Middlesex, Elgin and Oxford counties.
